WELCOME

‘ASSALAMU’ALAIKUM’

(May the peace, mercy and blessing of God, be upon you)

Welcome to the Australian Islamic College!

We sincerely hope that your association with us will be both enjoyable and professionally rewarding.

Our aim is to provide a happy and healthy environment for teachers and students alike. We rely on each other for mutual support and co-operation in order to achieve that goal.

Policies facilitate the fulfilment of the Mission of the College. They provide the guidelines for making decisions on a day to day basis. This Induction Booklet has been compiled to provide staff with a comprehensive summary of the Australian Islamic College policies. It will be upgraded each year as policies are changed.

This booklet provides most of the expectations and procedures required of a member of the teaching staff at the Australian Islamic College. It is intended to provide our existing staff with an update to the previous booklets and our new colleagues with the information they require in order to ensure a smooth and hassle -free start to their career at our College.

It is important that staff familiarize themselves with the College policies. It is equally important that policies are implemented consistently .

This booklet is not intended to replace personal contact with other staff for advice. We invite every staff member to contribute to the development of better policies to benefit the College’s working environment and most importantly the welfare of students.

We also welcome any questions and offer professional support to our colleagues.

(Please note that the information within is not exhaustive and staff will be informed of any updates, changes or modifications throughout the year via memos.)

Message from the Director

‘May the Peace, Mercy and Blessings of the Creator be upon you’.

We are delighted to welcome you to the Australian Islamic College family.

I cannot emphasise enough how grateful and thankful I am to Allah (SWT) for his blessings on our school.

When I thank Allah (The Creator of the heavens and the earth) for all that he has given us. I cannot help but ponder on the skill, dedication and commitment of our staff. Day after day I am mindful of their devotion to the students, the school and their vocation.

We at the AIC believe that even one person can make a difference and that person is you, each individual student, parent, teacher and community member.

The need for Academic Excellence in conjunction with StudentBehaviour Development is ever apparent. Listed below are some areas which I believe, cannot be emphasised enough:-

Academic Excellence

Students have different levels of learning abilities and it is absolutely vital to be aware and cater for these varying capabilities. Teachers are thus urged to:

    1. Advocate and perform intensive ‘one-on-one’ sessions to assist students who are struggling.
    2. Challenge, motivate and uplift students who are at a ‘standard’ level to high standards.
    3. Provide intellectually challenging projects and tasks for advanced students.

StudentBehaviour Development

In order for us to achieve this we must:

The AIC is extremely lucky to have such caring and committed staff. I am extremely blessed to have a great team and I know that together we can be the best.

I take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to our newest members of the Teaching Staff, and request them to rely on the information contained herein and feel free to contact me should they have any further queries or concerns.
