Dear Student,
![]()
Welcome to a new year at the Australian Islamic College! I hope you had an enjoyable and productive summer-break in readiness for an exciting 2008.
We’re happy to have our existing students returning to school and a special welcome to our new students joining the AIC family.
We want you to be happy and successful at the Australian Islamic College and while we will do our part we remind you that you play a key role in your success both as a student and an individual.
Our goal for 2008 is StudentBehaviour Development in conjunction with Academic Excellence.
Every year I am delighted by our students hard work in the above areas and I am confident that this year you will set a new level in behaviour and academic excellence!
We believe in fair and consistent discipline that encourages students to be responsible for themselves. At school, we try to create a safe environment where courtesy and kindness prevail and where there is respect for differences in other people, customs and cultures. Remember the school/class rules are for the benefit of everyone.
I have always believed that it’s the students who make the college and your results will be a testimony to your hard work and discipline. Your efforts now will determine your future and all the staff at the college are here to support you in this time.
Finally I implore you to Work Hard, have Trust in the Creator and give it 100% and Insha-Allah you will succeed in your endevours!

ARE YOU READY FOR YOUR 2008?
Every year level has its own challenges and tests, have a read of what 2008 has in store for you but remember - the one thing that makes every year a success is your determination to succeed and your hard work!
Year 8- THE LUCKIEST?
Your first year of high school! Many would do anything to go back to where you are today! You have a blank book in front of you and how you fill that is completely in your hands right now. You are the luckiest in the sense that any goal or ambition is achievable right now if you put your mind to it. If your goal is to be a doctor and you start now- YOU CAN ACHIEVE IT! This is where it all begins so make sure your beginning counts.

Year 9- THE TRANSITION
You know what high school is about- you’ve been here a year already right? WRONG!
This is a year of changes. You will go through the physical changes of becoming an adult and whether you mature mentally in your manner of work and responsibility is completely up to you. You will be exposed to right and wrong- be wise and make the right choices and develop your mind and spirit along with your body.
Year 10- GET READY FOR CHANGE!
This is where the path of life takes a sharp turn? Suddenly year 8 and 9 were a walk in the park!
Year 10 is where you make the decisions that determine your future. It’s the turning point of your high school life and the choices you make today are going to determine your TEE subjects and ultimate tertiary course. Get to know yourself, your strengths, weakness and ambitions and choose wisely.

Year 11- OR IS IT 12?
Technically it’s a TEE year so your marks here count towards your final results so think of it as the ‘first half’ of Year 12. Just because you lived through year 10 and Year 12 is still coming doesn’t mean you can take it easy. Your study habits and work discipline need to be established now to ensure your Year 12 is more about learning and less about planning.

Don’t want to cause a panic but THIS IS IT!
Every second of this year counts and every extra effort can make a difference. This is your last chance to make your future the best you can.
Remember, Year 12 is a shorter year then others and you are not just competing with your classmates but with over 24,000 students! The secret is to take your studies seriously and use your time effectively (plan every day!)
