Kewdale
Principal’s Welcome
Kewdale Primary School
Welcome to the Australian Islamic College Kewdale Primary School, a kindergarten to year 6 (K–6) school where faith, learning, and character development are woven together to nurture confident and capable young learners. From the very first years of early childhood education, we provide a nurturing environment that lays the foundation for lifelong learning, curiosity, and strong Islamic values, while also preparing students for the transition to high school.
At the Australian Islamic College – Kewdale Primary School, we believe education is a sacred trust and a powerful means of shaping students who are academically capable, morally grounded, and socially responsible. Our mission is to guide children throughout their primary years, beginning with early childhood, by fostering a love of learning, strong Islamic values, and the essential skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world. This ensures they are not only successful in primary school but also fully prepared for the academic, social, and emotional challenges of high school and, ultimately, for success in both this life and the Hereafter.
Our teaching and learning approach is grounded in Islamic pedagogy, placing Allah (SWT) at the centre of all learning. We emphasise tarbiyah (holistic nurturing), adab (respectful conduct), and akhlaq (good character) alongside academic excellence. This approach supports the development of the whole child intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, and socially and aligns with the principles of the Australian Curriculum, including critical thinking, ethical understanding, personal and social capability, and intercultural understanding.
We place a special focus on early childhood education, recognising that the first years of schooling are crucial for building a strong foundation in literacy, numeracy, social skills, emotional wellbeing, and faith-based values. Our Kindergarten and early primary programmes are carefully designed to engage young learners through hands-on, play-based, and inquiry-led experiences that foster curiosity, creativity, and confidence from the very start.
As a K–6 school, we provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every student is known, valued, and supported. Through the use of High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS), including explicit teaching, differentiated instruction, effective feedback, collaborative learning, and formative assessment, and aligned with ACARA standards, we foster curiosity, resilience, collaboration, and a growth mindset. These methods ensure students develop strong foundational skills and the confidence to transition smoothly into high school.
At the Australian Islamic College – Kewdale Primary School, we value strong partnerships between school and home. We believe meaningful education flourishes when parents and educators work together in open, respectful, and constructive collaboration. Our dedicated teachers view their role as an amanah (trust) and are committed to nurturing each child’s potential with care and professionalism.
We warmly invite families and community members to become part of our learning community. I encourage you to visit the Australian Islamic College – Kewdale Primary School and experience firsthand the nurturing environment that supports both educational excellence and Islamic values.
May Allah (SWT) bless our students, families, and staff, and grant us continued success in educating the leaders of tomorrow.
Wa Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh
