Australian Islamic College (AIC) is proud to announce the successful official launch of Project Rahma – The Inclusive Alliance, held on Wednesday, 9 September 2026, at AIC Forrestdale.
Grounded in the belief that every child is an Amanah (a sacred trust) entrusted to our care, this landmark initiative is designed to strengthen inclusive education practices and ensure that every learner is supported to participate, belong, and succeed.
The afternoon commenced with a warm welcome from our Master of Ceremonies, Ms. Nurafidah Mohd Amin (Inclusive Education Coordinator at AIC Forrestdale Primary), followed by a beautiful Qur’an recitation by Pangeran Omar and Hanna Aishalma.
We were honoured to welcome Mr. Yaz Mubarakai MLA, Member for Oakford who joined our leadership, staff, parents, and community members for this momentous occasion:
The Project Rahma Roadmap: A Journey of Growth
Project Rahma establishes a clear, long-term framework structured across four core phases:
- Phase One – Building Trust: Focuses on strengthening relationships with families, increasing awareness, reducing stigma around disability and learning differences, and encouraging families to seek support with confidence.
- Phase Two – Building Capacity: Aims to equip teachers and Education Assistants through ongoing professional development, quality educational resources, allied health partnerships, and improved early intervention pathways.
- Phase Three – Building Community: Deepens family engagement, introduces faith-based inclusion resources, and amplifies student voice.
- Phase Four – Building Sustainability: Embeds inclusive practices for the long term via continuous evaluation, research partnerships, policy refinement, and sharing best practices across all AIC campuses and the broader Islamic education sector.
Moving Forward Together
As Project Rahma officially begins its first phase, AIC remains deeply committed to walking this path alongside our families, educators, and allied health professionals. Supporting our learners is a shared responsibility, and united as an Inclusive Alliance, we look forward to creating brighter opportunities for every child in our care.
“May Allah accept our efforts, place barakah in Project Rahma, grant us the wisdom and sincerity to fulfil the amanah entrusted to us, and guide us as we work together to provide the best possible support for every child in our care. Ameen.”
