The Australian Islamic College (AIC) officially launched its 40th Anniversary celebrations with a heartfelt and historic event at its Kewdale campus, marking the beginning of a year-long tribute to four decades of academic excellence, Islamic values, and community spirit.
The kick-off celebration was graced by the presence of Br. Haji Abdallah Magar, the esteemed founder of AIC, whose vision laid the foundation for one of Australia’s leading Islamic educational institutions. Also in attendance were Br. Abdullah Khan, CEO and Executive Principal of AIC, and Br. Mohammed Nazar Khan, Principal of AIC Kewdale, both of whom played key roles in commemorating the occasion.
Br. Abdullah Khan delivered a powerful keynote address paying tribute to Haji Abdallah Magar and reflecting on the College’s transformative journey. “This year is a time of renewal, reflection, and recollection,” he said. “In recent years, Australian Islamic College has undertaken a conscious journey to reinvigorate our Islamic pedagogy, to return to the essence of tarbiyah, to cultivate not only academic excellence but spiritual grounding. We are focused more than ever on embedding Qur’anic values, Prophetic pedagogy, and authentic Islamic scholarship into every aspect of learning in the school. Our aim is not just to educate but to form holistic human beings — Muslim youth who are grounded in their identity.”
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, setting a spiritual tone for the celebration. A major highlight was the unveiling of AIC’s newly redesigned website, offering improved navigation and serving as a central hub for students, parents, and staff to stay connected and informed. In addition, the College revealed its commemorative 40th Anniversary logo, symbolizing four decades of dedication to nurturing minds and hearts.
This kick-off marks only the beginning of a series of celebratory events planned throughout the year. As AIC approaches its official 40th anniversary milestone, the College will continue to host commemorations that honor its legacy and look forward to a future rooted in faith, learning, and community.
