School Board

In May 2010, the Board of the Australian Islamic College was formed. The role of the board is to govern the college while it is the function of the Executive Principal to manage the organization according to the policies set by the board. The board establishes the strategic framework and its implementation is the responsibility of the Executive Principal. Together, the Board and the Executive Principal work towards the development of the college.

Communication on board matters is the responsibility of the Chairman. Individual board members are not allowed to discuss any policy beyond the meetings. Once a decision has been made by the board, it is documented and then communicated to the college community. This is done either through direct communication from the Chairman or through implementation processes overseen by the Executive Principal.

We do not offer remuneration for the positions. The board members are not eligible to be a board member and an employee of the college, simultaneously. The Executive Principal attends all board meetings as an Ex-Officio member. Each board member is required to have a National Police Clearance and signs a declaration regarding eligibility to hold the position as a fit and responsible person. The board must comply with all relevant statutory regulations.
