PERTH: The Executive Principal and CEO of Australian Islamic Colleges, Mr. Abdullah Khan, has been reappointed as a Member of the Ministerial Multicultural Advisory Council (MMAC). The appointment was approved by the Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Interests, Mr. Tony Buti MLA and endorsed by the Cabinet on the 24th of January 2021.
Abdullah Khan is a Member of the WA Police Muslim Advisory Group and the President of the Islamic Schools Association of Australia. He was awarded the Australian Council for Educational Leaders – WA Honorary Fellowship in 2016 for his contributions to education in WA. His contributions towards connecting culturally and linguistically diverse communities to the wider community through sport have also been acknowledged by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.
The purpose of the MMAC is to provide the Government and the Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Interests with direct grassroots feedback and advice on relevant policies, issues and needs of the culturally and linguistically diverse communities of Western Australia.
